-Before we start the procedure you need to download some files and follow the below guide here
- Make sure you have charged your device up to 80%.
- Then install the OnePlus USB Driver to your PC.
- Use original USB Cable for OnePlus 5.
- Download ADB & Fastboot USB driver and install them on your Computer,
- And enable USB debugging mode on your OnePlus 5.
- Download the latest version TWRP recovery for your device.
- Download the Root file for OnePlus 5.
- Unlock the Bootloader version OnePlus 5- here
- Download the Android SDK tool- here
Install TWRP Recovery on the OnePlus 5
-First, on your OnePlus 5.
-OnePlus 5 go to the menu button.
-Then tap on the “Settings” icon from there.
-After that, go down and tap on the “About Device“.
-Then find the “Build Number” then tap on the “Build Number” 5-7 times.
-Then “Developers options” will be enabled.
-Once done then back to the “Settings” main menu.
-After that, click on the “Developer Option” from there.
-Now go down, and disable the “update CM recovery” after that enable the “USB Debugging” option from there.
-Now download the ADB&Fastboot driver then install the ADB&Fastboot driver to your computer.
-After that, download the TWRP recovery and also download the “Android SDK” files to your computer.
-Then copy the “TWRP” file to your extracted “Android SDK” folder.
-Now, rename the “TWRP.img” recovery to “recovery.img”.
-Once done, now tap “select+mouse right key” at the same time then there select the “Open Command Prompt” there.
-Now CMD will open, then type this below codes:-
-Type, – “fastboot Devices” then hit enter.
-Type “fastboot flash Recovery.img” and then hit enter.
-After that, type “fastboot reboot” then hit enter.
-Then your device will “reboot”.
Root OnePlus 5
-Once done, now download the “Update_SuperSU.zip” then copy the “SuperSU.zip” to your microSD card.
-Then boot your device in the ” Custom Recovery” menu.
–Power off your device. then press & “hold volume down + power button”, until you see the “TWRP” logo in your device.
-Then, “TWRP” recovery menu will appear.
-Then tap on the “install” button.
-After that, Choose the “SuperSU.zip” from the “ext-microSD” card.
-Now, swipe to confirm installation of SuperSU.zip on OnePlus 5.
-Wait for finish installation of SuperSU file.
-Again back to the main “TWRP” menu.
-Then tap on the “Reboot” tab then select “system” from there.
-Wait for the Reboot.
-Done, now you have successfully Install TWRP and Root OnePlus 5.
